TOPIC: WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT?
A CRITICAL, STRATEGIC STUDY OF WHO THE HOLY SPIRIT IS, HIS WORKS, GIFTS, FRUITS, POWER AND CHARACTER.
SCRIPTURE REFERENCE
Jhn. 14:15-17
Vs. 15- If ye love me, keep my commandments
Vs. 16- And I will pray the father and He shall give you another COMFORTER that he may abide with you forever.
Vs. 17 – Even the SPIRIT OF TRUTH; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him but ye know him; for HE DWELLETH WITH YOU AND SHALL BE IN YOU.
FROM THE STATEMENT OF Jesus Christ, as stated in the above scriptures, we can reasonably deduce the following points about the Holy Spirit;
THE HOLY SPIRIT IS NOT:
1. He is not a thing.
2. He is not an it.
3. He is not a material substance.
4. He is not an impersonal force or energy.
5. He is not just a quality.
6. He is not an abstract being.
WHO THEN IS THE HOLY SPIRIT, IF HE IE NOT ALL OF THAT?
A. THE HOLY SPIRIT IS A REAL LIVING DIVINE PERSON
For any being to qualify as a real living person, there are certain attributes and qualities that being must possess.
1. He must have an INDEPENDENT WILL.
2. EMOTIONS
3. INTELLIGENCE
4. ABLE TO SPEAK AND COMMUNICATE IN ARTICULATE SPEECH.
5. ABLE TO INITIATE AND TAKE ACTION. ETC.
The Holy Spirit is a REAL LIVING DIVINE PERSON because he passed all of the above attributes.
